The story of River Cross began in the summer of 2005, with a visit to the Cross, located on top of Bald Knob Mt. near Alto-Pass, Illinois.
It was there, that I had a very life changing occasion with the Lord. The 360 degree walk around the foot of that cross was no small visit with my Jesus. From that moment on, things have changed. My life has taken on a whole new direction and purpose.
Later that summer, I traveled with several friends and family membersto see that same cross. We formed a line, joined hands, prayed and walked around the foot of that cross. Even a 4-year-old that was with us, sat at the foot of that cross and sang softly to herself. All of their lives were also touched by that visit.
That same evening, when we reached home some two hours plus later, my cousin Defus made a statement that has stayed with me. He said, "Ya know, we need a cross here in Crittenend County."
Well, instantly, I saw the vision of what was to become the single most incredible structure of its kind. We sat down at the dining table and began to draw out a very rough idea of what I could see. The wheels of my mind began to turn, as the Lord gave me more of what was to become "River Cross.”
